A striking vintage evening dress from the 1970s by Gerber Modell, combining a sweeping black velvet skirt with an intricately patterned silk bodice in vibrant pink and shimmering gold. Rich in texture and colour, this piece captures the decade’s distinctive blend of bohemian romance and evening glamour.
The fitted upper section features a black ground decorated with raised, velvety motifs in shades of pink and magenta. Stylised flowers, leafy shapes and small geometric diamonds sit within a gold metallic lattice, creating an expressive pattern with an almost tapestry-like effect. The contrast between the plush pink details, delicate black background and sparkling gold gives the fabric beautiful depth.
A flattering V-neckline opens the front, while the back has a higher neckline that allows the elaborate pattern to continue across the shoulders.
